“Othello” By William Shakespeare Review

Lago is furious about being overlooked for promotion and plots to take revenge against his General; Othello, the Moor of Venice. Lago manipulates Othello into believing his wife Desdemona is unfaithful, stirring Othello’s jealousy. Othello allows jealousy to consume him, murders Desdemona, and then kills himself.

I had high expectations for this one because I’ve heard so much good about this play but unfortunately it didn’t live up to my expectations.

The plot was super boring in this one to be fully honest. But I’ll give this play another chance by watching it live whenever I get the chance to do that and see if I like it better than.

The characters in this play was okay for the most part but I just didn’t care about them. But also they were super confusing and I just couldn’t keep up with who was who in this play.

There are a lots of problems whit the characters here because of the way it has aged. All of the characters here are either racist or very obsessive with someone else.

The writing style here was the best thing in this play because it gave the biggest William Shakespeare vibe which I enjoyed a lot.

I Give Play 1 / 5

“Measure for Measure” By William Shakespeare Review

Measure for Measure is about the fate of Claudio, who is arrested by Lord Angelo, the temporary leader of Vienna. Angelo is left in charge by the Duke, who pretends to leave town but instead dresses as a friar to observe the goings-on in his absence.

I complete hate this play because it was so damn boring and it was a pure torture reading this play.

This play was so boring that I ended up DNF-ing it after having read like 30% of it because it was so exhausting.

The characters here were super annoying and I didn’t care for them at all. The characters in this play were also super confusing because I just couldn’t tell them apart because all of them felt like the same person just dressing up as different people.

The plot in this play wasn’t better than the characters. I had the hardest time ever trying to follow the plot-line.

The writing style in this play was super bad to that point that it surprised me because it didn’t feel like William Shakespeare.

“All’s Well That Ends Well” By William Shakespeare Review

Helen saves the King’s life, he gives her his son to marry, who runs away from her, and she tricks him into impregnating her. Everything ends happily.

I gotta say I’m not surprised that I didn’t like this play because I didn’t like the majority of the plays written by William Shakespeare.

The plot was very uninteresting for me and I just didn’t care for it at all. Of course there were some good moments here and there but these moments were very rare in this play.

The characters in this play here was annoying and very boring. But the main characters here were okay for the most part so I decided to give this play extra points for that.

The writing style in this play was okay for the most part but I had higher expectations for it because I was written by William Shakespeare .

I Give Play 2 / 5

“Twelfth Night” By William Shakespeare Review

Twelfth Night is a fast-paced romantic comedy with several interwoven plots of romance, mistaken identities and practical jokes. Separated from her twin brother Sebastian in a shipwreck, Viola disguises herself as a boy, calls herself Cesario, and becomes a servant to the Duke Orsino.

This play like many other plays by William Shakespeare was boring and I just didn’t care for it. This play didn’t disappoint me because many plays by William Shakespeare have done that so I started not having any expectations for them.

The plot here was typical William Shakespeare plot which really had the potential to be good but simply wasn’t. The romance here together with the lame jokes in this play makes this play insufferable and pure torture.

This play was an attempt by William Shakespeare to make a rom-com which I need to say that he accomplished but I personally hate rom-coms so of course I hate this play as well.

The characters in this play are super boring because they are the most generic rom-com characters as it can be. Which really made me want to stab myself with something in both of the eyes.

I Give Play 1 / 5

“Troilus and Cressida” By William Shakespeare Review

Trojan prince Troilus falls in love with Cressida, as war rages around them. After vowing to be faithful, Cressida is traded to the Greek camp, where she then agrees to see another man. Troilus witnesses Cressida’s unfaithfulness and vows to put more effort into the war.

Another of William Shakespeare’s plays which didn’t work for me. Of course William Shakespeare has some very good plays but this one is far from them.

This play is very confusing because there is some many things which are going on here and I just couldn’t follow the storyline here because I just couldn’t put enough brain power to work because it became so god damn boring very quickly.

The characters here are super annoying and boring. I really don’t understand why William Shakespeare could write so annoying characters. I truly hated them all.

The writing style here is also very bad in a way even thou it has the big William Shakespeare vibe to it. There is still something which didn’t work for me here.

I Give Play 1 / 5

“As You Like It” By William Shakespeare Review

Rosalind and her cousin escape into the forest and find Orlando, Rosalind’s love. Disguised as a boy shepherd, Rosalind has Orlando woo her under the guise of “curing” him of his love for Rosalind. Rosalind reveals she is a girl and marries Orlando during a group wedding at the end of the play.

This play as many other plays by William Shakespeare just didn’t work for me. Once again it might be me being very picky on what I like and don’t like or the fact that I don’t like plays.

The plot of this play was very William Shakespeare type and you just could tell it was written by no other than William Shakespeare. The plot was super boring and uninteresting and it was super painful for me to read it. Because of this it ended up with me DNF-ing it.

The characters her were super bad and they really made me want to stab myself because I just couldn’t tolerate them. They felt like comically bad characters.

The writing style here was okay. To be honest it was the best thing in this play which of course is too little for me to give it a good rating.

I Give Play 1 / 5

“The Merry Wives of Windsor” By William Shakespeare Review

Falstaff decides to fix his financial woe by seducing the wives of two wealthy merchants. The wives find he sent them identical letters and take revenge by playing tricks on Falstaff when he comes calling.

This play wasn’t super bad but it still was bad for me at least. It supposed to be a comedy play which for me personally was a tragedy play because it tired way too hard to be funny.

The plot here was for sure unique but still it wasn’t something I normally tend to like or read for that part. I don’t know really what to say about the plot because I am split in two here. Because one part of me likes it and the second part of me doesn’t like it.

This play is supposed to me a play full of puns, jokes, one liners and situational comedy which for me turned out to be a tragedy as I’ve said before because all of the attempts on jokes weren’t just funny. It might be something with the ageing to do and that the sense of humour changing with time.

The characters here were meh. There were 1 character which I somehow liked but the rest of them were just there. I just didn’t care about the characters and I didn’t bother remembering their names.

I Give Play 2 / 5

“Much Ado About Nothing” By William Shakespeare Review

Much Ado About Nothing is about misunderstandings, love and deception. Benedick, Claudio and Don Pedro arrive at Leonato’s house in Messina. Beatrice and Benedick bicker with each other and Claudio, a soldier, falls in love with Leonato’s daughter, Hero.

To be fully honest, in my opinion this play didn’t age well. Because reading this play for me was like watching paint on the wall dry.

This play was incredibly hard to understand because of the old English but also of the many phrases which we don’t use any longer. Which made me look them up just to know what was happening.

This play is very confusing because there is so much which is happening in this play but also because I didn’t care about it and I couldn’t focus on it hard enough.

The plot in this play was very basic, boring and predictable. Which really made it to a torture for me to read it.

I Give Play 1 / 5

“Henry V” By William Shakespeare Review

After an insult from the French Dauphin, King Henry V of England invades France to claim the throne he believes should be his. Henry stops an assassination plot, gives powerful speeches, and wins battles against the odds. In the end, he woos and marries the Princess of France, linking the two nations.

To be fully honest here I had very low expectations for this play which this play had lived up to and done better than what I’ve expected.

This poem is about a British kind who is invading France which means that there is a lot of royal drama and a lot of war talk which really doesn’t work for me when it comes to plays. Because I don’t like plays at all but this was okay.

Everything in this play revolves around war which really I get it but still it could have been written in a different way.

There were many interesting scenes in this play but there were also some boring and super tortures scenes in this play.

The characters here were there. I personally didn’t care about the characters in this play. I didn’t care for them so much that I didn’t bother remembering the names of the characters in this play.

I Give Play 3 / 5

“Henry IV, Part II” By William Shakespeare Review

Henry IV Part II is about the burden of power, old age and atonement for the past as King Henry dies and Prince Hal accepts the crown. The play begins in the aftermath of the battle in Shrewsbury.

This play is the second part of the Henry 4th play by William Shakespeare. And to be honest I didn’t like it even more than part 1. And of course I DNF-ed this one as well as the first part of this play.

Reading this play really was a torture for me just as the part one of this play. Because it was even worse than the first part with even more confusing plot and the same characters becoming more annoying than in the first part.

This second part was incredibly dull and it just lacked good plot and good characters. This play is 2 times more painful than the first part of this play.

I truly didn’t care about the plot nor about the characters here. So of course I just can’t give this play a good feedback.

I Give Play 1 / 5
