“Henry V” By William Shakespeare Review

After an insult from the French Dauphin, King Henry V of England invades France to claim the throne he believes should be his. Henry stops an assassination plot, gives powerful speeches, and wins battles against the odds. In the end, he woos and marries the Princess of France, linking the two nations.

To be fully honest here I had very low expectations for this play which this play had lived up to and done better than what I’ve expected.

This poem is about a British kind who is invading France which means that there is a lot of royal drama and a lot of war talk which really doesn’t work for me when it comes to plays. Because I don’t like plays at all but this was okay.

Everything in this play revolves around war which really I get it but still it could have been written in a different way.

There were many interesting scenes in this play but there were also some boring and super tortures scenes in this play.

The characters here were there. I personally didn’t care about the characters in this play. I didn’t care for them so much that I didn’t bother remembering the names of the characters in this play.

I Give Play 3 / 5

“The Weapon of a Jedi: A Luke Skywalker Adventure” By Jason Fry Review

The REBEL ALLIANCE has destroyed the Empire’s dreaded DEATH STAR, but the galaxy remains convulsed by civil war, and the Imperial starfleet is hunting the rebels throughout the galaxy. LUKE SKYWALKER, the pilot who destroyed the Death Star, is now hailed as a hero. But Luke seeks only to support the freedom fighters, serving the Rebellion behind the controls of his X-wing fighter.Even as he flies alongside the pilots of Red Squadron, Luke feels stirrings in the mystical energy field known as the Force. And this farm boy turned fighter pilot begins to suspect his destiny lies along a different path.

I was super excited to read this book and I had high expectations for this book as for any other Star Wars book and movie and show because it the fucking Star Wars we are talking about.

This book is a fun little book to read and the cover of this book will make a killing on your bookshelf because it so stunning. But the book itself when you look behind the cover it is just an okay space opera adventure of Luke Skywalker. Of course this book shows a little bit better what relations did Luke, C3-PO and R2-D2 had with each other which really was the best thing about this book for me at least.

This book doesn’t add anything new to the universe of Star Wars nor to the characters here. But he get a nice little adventure which Luke, C3-PO and R2-D2 had after the events in episode 4 but before episode 5. It was very fun to learn about this adventure and it was a decent book but it didn’t engage me so good as some other Star Wars books.

The plot here was good but it was very short so as you might expect we didn’t get a lot of details or a super detailed adventure but for me this book worked fine. This book is from C3-PO and R2-D2 perceptive so it is them telling this story but the reactions which these two have with each other is like the best thing ever.

The plot of this book is mainly Luke learning on how to use The Force and how to fight with a lightsaber. And of course we get some very good descriptions on what to keep in mind when you are learning to use both the The Force and a lightsaber which really for me was the highlight of this book.

The writing style wasn’t super advanced here, to be honest it was super basic but I didn’t mind it because a book doesn’t need to have an academic writing style in it to still be good and enjoyable.

In this book we get very really little characters and half off these characters doesn’t get more than a page or two involving them. But Sarco was very interesting character in this book which really could have been explored more in this universe.

I give this book 3 / 5

“A Dance with Dragons” By George R.R. Martin Review

In the aftermath of a colossal battle, the future of the Seven Kingdoms hangs in the balance—beset by newly emerging threats from every direction. In the east, Daenerys Targaryen, the last scion of House Targaryen, rules with her three dragons as queen of a city built on dust and death. But Daenerys has thousands of enemies, and many have set out to find her. As they gather, one young man embarks upon his own quest for the queen, with an entirely different goal in mind.

The fifth book in the “A song of ice and fire” series done and the time to wait for more books in this series have began for me as well.

This book gotta be the weakest book in the “A song of ice and fire” series so far. Because it has all the characters I less care about. I love Tyrion but we don’t get much from him in this book. And even thou I am team Targaryen I hate Daenerys there is something about her which always made me dislike her.

The plot in this book is okay but I have had big expectations for this book as for the previous books in this series which this book didn’t live up to. The plot in this book was less engaging than in the previous books in this series, and there were couple of chapters which felt like they were written just to make this book longer. Of course this book have had some very good moments but also it have had some bad moments which were on the edge of annoying me in a way.

The main reason why I’m so big “A song of ice and fire” fan is because the politics in the series and this book had more drama in it than politics which is okay but it could have been better if there were more politics in it.

Another thing which annoyed me here is that we get a lots of Daenerys but only like 15 pages about dragons which are pretty much at the very end. Daenerys is a Targaryen and Targaryens have dope dragons and are the best fucking house in this series. Targaryens have something for me which makes them the number 1, but Daenerys doesn’t live up to it. She feels like a kid who tries to be a queen but has no idea what she is doing which makes me hate her as a stand alone character and this book gives more of this aspect of Daenerys which I hate as you already know.

The characters here felt less fun, engaging and interesting in this book than in the previous 4 books in this series which was the main reason why I rated this book so low when you compare it with the rest of the books in this series. The characters in this book gave me the feeling that George R.R Martin stoped caring about them and that he just wanted to write this book to cash in a little bit.

However I loved that we got more of the Many-Faced God which is one of my favourite things in the “A song of ice and fire” series. To be honest the Many-Faced God and the temple of Many-Faced God was he best thing about this book for me. And it was the main reason why I continued to read this book to the end despite the fact that there were a lots of things which I didn’t like about this book.

The writing style here was very good. It was on the level with the rest of the books in this series which I appreciated probably the most.

I give this book 5 / 5

“Love Is for Losers” By Wibke Brueggemann Review

Fifteen-year-old Phoebe thinks falling in love is vile and degrading, and vows never to do it. Then, due to circumstances not entirely in her control, she finds herself volunteering at a local thrift shop. There she meets Emma . . . who might unwittingly upend her whole theory on life.

This one is a typical YA book about romance, teens and high school drama. Which really disappoint me, because I was hoping for something not just generic.

The entire book has an huge British narrative to it which really was fun in an away but I also kept forgetting that this book is sett in London which I was being reminded of pretty often. But also I had troubles understanding high school terms like “GCSEs” which apparently are big deal in England.

The writing style here could have been much better than it was but it was super easy and super lame.

The love story between Emma and Phoebe was kind of cute in an away but it was super original which I meed to give it points for.

I give this book 3 / 5

“So You Want to be a Writer” By Charles Bukowski Review

This poem talks about why someone would want to be a writer which for me is a unique take on a plot for a poem because almost every poem I’ve read so far was either about death or love and not about becoming a writer which really supersede me.

The writing style here was okay for the most part. But in a way I was expecting something more from this poem because it was written by Charles Bukowski.

The plot as I’ve already mentioned was pretty unique when it comes to poems which really surprised me which I’ve also had already said.

I give this poem 3 / 5

“A Thing of Beauty” By John Keats Review

Another pretty decent poem which we are talking about today.

To be fully honest here it is a sweet and fun little poem which I think everyone will enjoy. And the way it is written makes it one of the most beautiful poems I’ve read so far.

The writing style here was amazing and it felt like every word in this poem had a purpose in it. Which I truly love when it happens.

The plot if this poem was amazing and it reeky made the generic plot if almost every poem into something unique. Which I truly doesn’t mind when it happens in proms.

I give this poem 3 / 5

“The Way up to Heaven” By Roald Dahl Review

Mrs Foster has recently begun to suspect her husband of purposely exacerbating her pathological fear of missing a train or plane. She is continuously badgered by her husband, Eugene, who makes a habit of waiting until the last minute to leave the house.

This short story by Roald Dahl was okay for the most part it wasn’t the greatest thing written by him nor was it the worst thing written by him. This short story is really a dark and morbid tale.

The plot in this short story wasn’t the most entertaining and interesting but it was enjoyable for the most part there were couple of moments while reading this one where I wanted to DNF this short story because it began so boring and uninteresting .

The characters in this short story were okay for the most part. It didn’t dislike them but I also didn’t like them. I didn’t care about them at all so I didn’t bother to have any specific thoughts about them.  But the main character really made it impossible for me to even try liking her because she submissive to everything and she allowed everyone especially her husband treat her very cruelly.

The ending here was really the biggest problem for me with this short story because it really ruined it for me.

I Give Story 3 / 5

“Sonnet 50″ By William Shakespeare Review

This one was another pretty average sonnet by William Shakespeare. To be personally it was kind of boring and uninteresting but I’m very picky when it comes to sonnets and poems so it might explain a lot.

The writing style here was probably the best part of this poem because it was really on the level with William Shakespeare.

The plot in this sonnet was okay for the most part but I was expecting something more from William Shakespeare. Which this sonnet didn’t live up to as you may expect from the low rating.

I Give This Sonnet 2 / 5

“Sonnet 144” By William Shakespeare Review

This sonnet was pretty good but still I personally felt not the pure joy like I felt some other sonnets I’ve read so far.

In this sonnet William Shakespeare is wondering if his better angels are winning out or not. Even thou it was super interesting I found it still enjoyable.

The plot was interesting but not a masterpiece even thou it was very good.

This sonnet was enjoyable as well, but still it didn’t speak to me so much as I wished it would.

The writing style here was pretty okay but I was expecting something more from William Shakespeare.

I Give This Sonnet 3 / 5

“Sonnet 130” By William Shakespeare Review

This sonnet was pretty good but still I personally felt not the pure joy like I felt some other sonnets I’ve read so far.

This sonnet was really like the one which is really hard to describe because I hated it but also loved it at the same time.

This sonnet was super interesting and enjoyable as well, but still it didn’t speak to me so much as I wished it would.

The writing style here was pretty okay but I was expecting something more from William Shakespeare.

I Give This Sonnet 3 / 5
