“The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether” By Edgar Allan Poe Review

The story follows an unnamed narrator who visits a mental institution in southern France known for a revolutionary new method of treating mental illnesses called the “system of soothing”.

This story needs to get points for being unique in its theme throughout the whole story.

This one is sort of a mix between being humorous but also very creepy at times.

This one also has the 19th century vibe to it which I personally love a lot.

It was very interesting because I’m a huge fan of horror story which involves mental asylums and some shit going down there.

The writing style was pretty poor if you ask me. Which have disappointed me.

The reason why I have rated this short story so low is because it was way too humorous and it sort of killed the scary vibe to the whole story.

I give this poem 2 / 5
