“The Philosophy of Furniture” By Edgar Allan Poe Review

The essay is an unusual work by Poe, whose better-known works include horror tales like “The Tell-Tale Heart”. The essay presents Edgar Allan Poe’s theories on interior decorating.

So this one is an essay and not a short story or a poem.

The beginning of this essay was kind of funny and weird in a way. It was funny because of the way Edgar Allan Poe was describes how different cultures decorate.

When we come nearer the end in this essay the whole thing becomes very boring because of the way Edgar Allan Poe was describing the way of furniture and homes.

But it was also in a way interesting because from this essay we learned more about Edgar Allan Poe’s personal views on furniture but arguments are lacking.

The writing style was pretty basic and for sure Edgar Allan Poe was able to write better than what he was giving us in this one.

This essay didn’t have anything grim or dark in it.

I give this poem 2 / 5
